He was in the 10400 block of South Eggleston Avenue when someone fired at him from a silver Chevy Malibu, Chicago police said.

A man was shot and killed while working on his car in Fernwood on the South Side Monday.

Lamar Brian Drakes, 28, was in front of his home in the 10400 block of South Eggleston Avenue when someone fired from a silver Chevy Malibu about 8:40 p.m. Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

He was struck multiple times and taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

No one was in custody.
