A 17-year-old boy was shot early Wednesday in Washington Park on the South Side.

The teen was in front of a building in the 5600 block of South King Drive when he was shot in the abdomen about 3:55 a.m., Chicago police said.

He was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was in critical condition, police said.

No one was in custody.
