Man fatally shot in Gresham

He was inside of a residence about 4 p.m. Sunday in the 8600 block of South Lowe Avenue when someone opened fire, striking him in the chest, Chicago police said.

A 28-year-old man was killed and another man was wounded in a shooting Aug. 13, 2022, in Roseland.

A man was shot dead July 11, 2021, in Gresham.

A man was killed in a shooting Sunday in Gresham on the South Side.

Kenneth Michael Nelson, 35, was inside of a residence about 4 p.m. in the 8600 block of South Lowe Avenue when someone opened fire, striking him in the chest, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

He was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 4:30 p.m., authorities said.

An autopsy found he died of multiple gunshot wounds and ruled his death a homicide, the medical examiner’s office said.

No arrest was reported.
