Man shot to death in Austin

The 30-year-old was in the 5500 block of West Rice Street when someone approached and someone fired shots

A man was fatally wounded in a shooting Sunday night in Austin on the Northwest Side.

About 7:30 p.m., the 30-year-old was in the 5500 block of West Rice Street when someone approached and fired shots, Chicago police said.

He was struck in the shoulder and was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified him as Stephon Taylor Sr. of Lawndale.

No one was in custody.
