A 16-year-old boy was shot early Wednesday in the Douglas neighborhood on the South Side.

He was in the 600 block of East 31st Street when he was wounded in the shoulder about 1:40 a.m., Chicago police said.

The teen was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where his condition was stabilized, police said.

No one was in custody.
