Man fatally shot in Calumet City

A man was fatally shot Thursday night in south suburban Calumet City.

Kewhan Fields, 42, was shot just after 6 p.m. in the 1600 block of Sibley Boulevard, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

He was pronounced dead at 7:42 p.m., the medical examiner’s office said. An autopsy released Friday found he died of a gunshot wound to the torso. His death was ruled a homicide.

Calumet City police have not yet released information on the shooting.
