One man was killed and another wounded in a shooting early Sunday in the Near West Side neighborhood.
The two men, 30 and 36, were outside just before 3 a.m. in the 2700 block of West Jackson Boulevard when they heard several shots and felt pain, Chicago police said. Both men brought themselves to Mount Sinai Hospital, according to police.
The younger man suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the chest and abdomen and was pronounced dead, police said. He has been identified by the Cook County medical examiner’s office as Antonio K. Holmes.
The older man was struck once in the chest and listed in serious condition, police said.
There was no one in custody as Area Four detectives investigate.
