1 killed, 1 wounded in Chatham shooting

A man and woman were among a group just before 2 a.m. in the 7500 block of South Saint Lawrence when gunfire erupted, police said.

One person was killed and another wounded Sunday in a shooting in Chatham on the South Side.

Felder Tony Tatum Jr., 33, and 34-year-old woman were among a group of people just before 2 a.m. in the 7500 block of South Saint Lawrence when someone opened fire, Chicago Police said.

Tatum was shot in the chest and was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center where he died, police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

The woman was shot in the leg and was also taken to University of Chicago where her condition was stabilized, police said.

No one was in custody.
