Woman shot to death in Burnside

Someone shot the woman, striking her in both arms, in the 8900 block of South St. Lawrence Avenue, Chicago police said.

A boy, 14, was critically wounded in a drive-by shooting Aug. 14, 2022, in Hyde Park.

A woman was killed in a shooting August 16, 2012, in Burnside.

A 26-year-old woman was fatally shot Monday afternoon in the Burnside neighborhood.

About 3:30 p.m. someone shot the woman, striking her in both arms, in the 8900 block of South St. Lawrence Avenue, Chicago police said.

She was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center and pronounced dead at 7 p.m., according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

She was identified as Kristina De Jesus, who lived in the neighborhood where she was shot, the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

No one is in custody as Area Two detectives investigate.
