A man was shot and critically wounded Sunday on the Near West Side.

About 12:25 a.m., the 45-year-old was outside in the 2200 block of West Washburne Avenue when he was shot in the face, Chicago Police said.

He was driven by a friend to Stroger Hospital where he was listed in critical condition, police said.

No one was in custody.
