Man dies in Gresham shooting

A man was killed in a shooting Thursday in Gresham on the South Side.

The 54-year-old was standing outside about 1:40 a.m. in the 1600 block of West 79th Street when someone approached and fired, Chicago police said.

Nevel Myles was struck in the head and taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead at 4:42 a.m., police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

No arrests have been reported.
