Man fatally shot near back of Woodlawn home

A man was fatally shot Wednesday night near the back of a home in Woodlawn on the South Side.

The man, 24, was in the 6600 block of South Kenwood when someone shot him in the arm, Chicago police said.

He was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

He was identified as Deandre Neely by the Cook County medical examiner’s office. An autopsy conducted Thursday ruled his death a homicide.

There was no one in custody.
