The one-and-only Chaka Khan will help raise both money and awareness in the ongoing battle against AIDS and HIV — particularly how it has an impact on the lives and health challenges for women and girls.
The Chicago-born music legend’s Saturday show at the Chicago Theatre will benefit the Red Pump Project, a non-profit organization that works to make people aware of how HIV/AIDS continues to have an impact on women and girls.
The event will also honor the group’s fifth anniversary. The benefit is part of a platform called “Music is My First Love,” an outreach program that currently spotlights live musical performances as a way to highlight social causes in different communities. Tickets to the Chaka Khan show this Saturday are available at ticketmaster.com
A full interview with Chaka Khan will appear in the Saturday Sun-Times.
