Payne has broken arm

Rookie safety Kevin Payne has a broken right arm, the Sun-Times has learned.

Payne was injured in Sunday’s loss at Detroit and left Ford Field with his arm in a sling.

The injury will likely make Payne the seventh player to be placed on season-ending injured reserve.

The Bears could promote S Josh Gattis from the practice squad to take his place.
