Wednesday practice update II

The following players were held out of Wednesday’s practice in the rain at Halas Hall:

WR Bernard Berrian (toe)

LB Lance Briggs (knee)

DT Tommie Harris (left knee)

CB Ricky Manning Jr. (illness)

CB Trumaine McBride (hip)

FB Jason McKie (foot)

CB Nathan Vasher (groin)

Coach Lovie Smith said all but Harris and Vasher should return to practice Thursday.

QB Brian Griese (left shoulder) did participate in all of practice.

Smith also said when Griese is healthy he will be the No. 2 quarterback.

The default speed limit on Chicago side streets is 30 mph, but lowering it to 25 mph could “go a really long way” toward reducing traffic deaths, which have skyrocketed since the start of the pandemic, city Department of Transportation officials said.
