Fassitt to "see what is out there"

The Bears have expressed interest in signing cornerback Greg Fassitt to a futures contract, but after spending the entire season on the practice squad, he is open to exploring other options.

The exclusive window for team to negotiate with their own players for futures deals concludes today. Fassitt, an undrafted free agent from Grambling State, may want to take a peek at some teams that did not just sign two starting cornerbacks to deals totaling close to $70 million.

A source close to the player did not rule out the Bears, but said, “We’re waiting to see what’s going in Chicago. We’ll see what is out there.”

Fassitt’s agent Jeff Guerriero just returned from a trip out of the country. So it appears he could return to the Bears, but nothing is imminent and Fassitt might just be headed elsewhere.
