Bears make it official with Garrett Wolfe, place him on IR

The Bears made it official and have placed running back Garrett Wolfe on season-ending injured reserve.

Wolfe suffered a lacerated kidney Nov. 8 vs. Arizona. Wolfe is expected to make a full recovery and he is signed through 2010.

Because of rules involving the practice squad, the Bears may be forced to add a player to the 53-man roster in order to avoid having to reduce their eight-man developmental squad. One natural move would be for running back Kahlil Bell to be signed from the practice squad following practice, which just started at Halas Hall. Linebacker Pisa Tinoisamoa has been out for the season for five weeks but remains on the 53-man roster.
