8 killed in attack on Sri Lankan cricket team in Pakistan

Sad news this morning as a dozen gunmen opened fire on a bus carrying the Sri Lankan national cricket team and its police escort. Six officers and two bystanders were killed in the attack.

The attackers ambushed a bus carrying the cricket team, using assault rifles, grenades and anti-tank missiles. Some Pakistani officials likened the audacity of the assault to the attacks in Mumbai, India, in November.
