Bill Daley: Commencement speaker at University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana

WASHINGTON–White House chief of staff Bill Daley delivers commencement speeches at the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana campus on Sunday, May 15–the birthday of his father, the late Chicago Mayor Richard J. Daley.

The next day, Monday May 16, Rahm Emanuel, who Daley replaced as White House chief of staff, gets sworn in as mayor of Chicago. Daley’s brother, Mayor Daley, will pass the baton to Emanuel that Monday morning.

According to the U of I: Daley will “speak at both the 10:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. campuswide Commencement ceremonies at the Assembly Hall.”
