Bears acquire ex-NU standout McManis

The Bears acquired former NU standout Sherrick McManis from the Houston Texans today in exchange for fullback Tyler Clutts.McManis has appeared in 23 games over two seasons with Houston after being selected by the Texans in the fifth round (144th overall) of the 2010 NFL Draft. The 6-1, 193-pound cornerback had two tackles and one interception with the Texans. On special teams, McManis had 16 tackles, 11 kickoff returns for 230 yards (20.9 ypr) and a forced fumble. McManis will be reunited with former Wildcat teammates — defensive end Corey Wootton and linebacker Nick Roach.
