Here’s a quick injury update for Notre Dame heading into this Saturday’s home-opener against Purdue.Junior tackle Tate Nichols (knee) is not yet involved in practice, and will not be available against Purdue but he returned to the wieght room last week and was scheduled to work out individually today. Running backAmir Carlisle, a USCtransfer, was cleared to practice today. Linebacker Danny Spond (migraine) has yet to be cleared for physical contact. Brian Kelly said he hopes Spond will be cleared next week. Running back Cam McDaniel suffered an undisclosed injury in the fourth quarter against Navy, but Kelly said he should be back for Purdue.
