Robert Englund and his iconic “Freddy Krueger” character

Entertainment fans have a WIDE range of choices over the next couple of weeks.

†Chicago’s own Apollo Chorus has been invited to perform for a second time with Josh Groban — obviously having impressed the singer at his sold out Ravinia concert this past summer. This time the 142-year-old choir will sing with Groban next weekend at the United Center at 7:30 p.m. Sunday.

† SCARE TIME: Fans of some of the most popular Halloween fright flicks will be happy to know that Freddy Krueger himself — the one and only Robert Englund of “A Nightmare on Elm Street” fame — will be making pre-Halloween weekend appearances Oct. 25-27 at the Hollywood Blvd. and Hollywood Palms Cinemas in Woodridge and Naperville. To check times for Krueger’s appearances to introduce the special screenings of “Elm Street” go to atriptothemovies.com

†Also, both theater complexes will be welcoming Tyler Mane (Michael Myers) from Rob Zombie’s “Halloween” and “Halloween II” films on Oct. 30 and 31.
