Chicago fishing: Marquette Park

There’s two sides to the fishing at Marquette Park, once Chicago’s greatest lagoon; and those two fishing angles are the subject of today’s column on the Sun-Times outdoors page.

The Marquette Park Match Fishing League celebrated its 15th year on Monday with fishing and an awards ceremony.

There other aspect is one of the woodworking projects taught by Gary DeLeonardis in his shop at the Southwest Side park.

I should think about doing a primer on how he builds those wooden fishing rods.
