'Days of our Lives' stars shoot through Chicago Aug. 24

Soap fans can spend the better part of the day with “Days of our Lives” stars when five of the long-running sudsers’ cast members drop by Chicago Aug. 24.

Chandler Massey, Casey Deidrick, Blake Berris, Nathan Owens and Jen Lilley will be at the Chicago Marriott O’Hare, 8535 W. Higgins, that Saturday for the fan event, open to all ages.

The schedule includes a chance to grill the daytime stars during a question-and-answer panel. There also will be a luncheon with the cast and a photo and autograph session. Tickets to various segments start at $50 and can be purchased individually, or you shell out $300 for all-day access. A portion of the proceeds go to charity. Tickets are available at www.elitefanevents.com.

Set in the fictional Midwestern town of Salem, “Days of Our Lives” is one of daytime drama’s rare mainstays. The NBC series first premiered as a half-hour program in 1965 and expanded to an hour 10 years later. In its 47 years, “Days of our Lives” has racked up 215 Daytime Emmy noms and 32 wins.
