Catch the Air & Water Show action from your couch with ABC special Sunday

If you don’t want to wade into the crowd of 2 million onlookers gathered along the lakefront this weekend, catch highlights from the 55th Chicago Air & Water Show from the comfort of your couch Sunday night.

WLS-Channel 7 will air a half-hour special at 11 p.m. Sunday. Hosted by meteorologists Jerry Taft and Tracy Butler, “Chicago’s Top Guns” will feature the precision flying maneuvers of one of this year’s headliners, the GEICO Skytypers Airshow Team, a flight squadron of six vintage World War II aircraft.

The highlight reel also will include the aerobatic demo Team Aerostars, the Aeroshell Aerobatic Team, the Firebirds Delta Team, Chuck Aaron in the Red Bull Helicopter, the All Veteran Parachute Team as well as Sean D. Tucker & Team Oracle as they execute daredevil feats of precision at 300 miles per hour.

The Air & Water Show takes place on the lakefront from Fullerton Avenue to Oak Street with North Avenue Beach as the focal point.

ABC will air a repeat of “Chicago’s Top Guns” at 4:30 p.m. Aug. 25.
