Rizzo raises $150,000 for pediatric cancer research

Anthony Rizzo’s first major foundation fundraiser of this season collected more than $150,000 for pediatric cancer.

The “Cookoff for Cancer” held Wednesday was the latest venture for the Anthony Rizzo Family Foundation, with teammates helping the cause by volunteering as servers for the event at Cafe Brauer. The team of David DeJesus and Cody Ransom raised the most money in tips and proceeds at the event, which drew several hundred people.

Rizzo is a survivor of Hodgkins Lymphoma, diagnosed when he was 18.
