Tekotte optioned to AAA Charlotte

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The White Sox optioned outfielder Blake Tekotte to AAA Charlotte on Wednesday night.

A corresponding move will be made before the Sox play the Royals on Thursday night.

Tekotte, 26, was hitting .226 with seven hits in 31 at-bats for the Sox. He hadn’t played in 10 days. He played in 20 games with nine starts over three stays with the Sox this season.

The Sox defeated the Royals 5-2 Wednesday for their fifth consecutive victory.
