Radio Waves: George Desort talks wild documentaries

George Desort talks about Isle Royale, aloneness in the wilds and doing nature documentaries this afternoon on “Outside.’`

His second documentary, “Fifty Lakes One Island,” was released earlier this year and I was mighty impressed with how well it captured an intense extended period alone in the wilds.

I really enjoyed our discussion on making the decision about whether to live removed in the wilds and go to the urban area or live in the urban area and withdraw to the wilds.

“Outside” airs from 4:30-5 p.m. Mondays on WKCC-FM (91.1) in Kankakee. The rebroadcasts are at 8:30 a.m. on Saturdays.
