Fish of the Week: Sign of big Chinook

SHARE Fish of the Week: Sign of big Chinook

Chinook are running so big on Lake Michigan this summer that Bob McKay (center) needed two guys to show off the 29-pounder he caught last week.

He was fishing with Capt. Mike Smith on CO-CHI 1 out of North Point Marina. Smith (left with baseball cap) is one of the longest-tenured captains on southern Lake Michigan.

Could it be a fall when we see some 30-pounders again, like the glory days?
