Small hair. Big impact.

Beyonce’s new hair cut, which we predict will be the most influential pixie cut since Sandy Duncan, was not a result of her hair getting caught in a fan at a Montreal concert last month, the singer’s colorist told USA Today.

“Her hair was long and went down her back,” Rita Hazan told the newspaper. “She’d been thinking about it for a while and she wanted to go for it and cut it. It was a moment that she had.”

Her “Mrs. Carter Show World Tour” heading overseas later this month, Beyonce got the cut Tuesday night and the color Wednesday, Hazan said. While some might think the style screams “mom,” Hazan calls it “old Hollywood meets modern day…It’s soft but strong at the same time.”
