Not surprisingly, the young members of Chicago’s Happiness Club are thrilled to be heading to New York City for a Monday concert launching first lady Michelle Obama’s new hip hop CD, “Songs for a Healthier America.”

Part of the first lady’s “Let’s Move” campaign to end childhood obesity, the CD also includes such artists as Jordin Sparks, Ashanti, Doug E. Fresh and DMC from RunDMC.

The Happiness Club was selected to be on the album after they performed “Change the Game,” a song about better nutrition for kids, at the White House Easter Egg Roll in 2011.

The album, co-produced by Partnership for a Healthier America and Hip Hop Public Health, will be available for free download on iTunes.
