Same-day grocery delivery company Instacart added service Wednesday to the Rogers Park neighborhood as well as Evanston, Wilmette and Kenilworth.
“The reception to Instacart’s same-day grocery delivery service in Chicago has exceeded our expectations. We’ve received a high volume of requests from the North Shore, so we expedited our expansion to reach these customers,” Apoorva Mehta, CEO and founder of Instacart, said in a news release.
Customers in the new areas will, for now, be able to place orders from Whole Foods and Jewel-Osco. Instacart lets customers combine items from more than one store into a single order.
Heather Wake, the company’s Chicago city manager, said university students are big customers because many don’t have cars. The new areas include Loyola and Northwestern.
