The trademark battles between Mondelez and Nestle seem like playground squabbles — just with higher stakes.

Deerfield-based Mondelez‘s latest salvo is a challenge to Nestle‘s attempt to trademark the shape of the KitKat bar. This comes after Nestle successfully blocked Mondelez’ Cadbury from trademarking the purple color used to wrap its chocolates.

The case of the candybar shape is headed to the European Union Court of Justice, Bloomberg.com reports.
