Gov. Pat Quinn took centerstage Wednesday to deliver his State of the State address – he called for a minimum wage hike and took a victory lap on pension reform.

After the speech, Quinn’s competition came out swinging – from both sides of the aisle. Springfield Bureau Chief Dave McKinney got their thoughts here:

An 18-year-old man was shot and hospitalized in critical condition about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 4800 block of South Marshfield Avenue . A 40-year-old man was taken into custody after a 40-minute standoff.
