Richard J. “R.J.” Vanecko, a nephew of former Mayor Richard M. Daley charged in the 2004 death of David Koschman, came to court Friday afternoon for a pretrial hearing in Rolling Meadows that his lawyers previously had gotten court approval for him to skip.
Koschman’s mother, Nanci Koschman, also showed up for the hearing, which Judge Maureen P. McIntyre had called to consider pretrial motions in the high-profile case, in which Vanecko is scheduled to go on trial Feb. 18 for involuntary manslaughter.
