Strange Pelican lands in Lincoln Square

Strange Pelican Brewing will soon be making beer in the space formerly used by 4 Paws Brewing in Lincoln Square.

4 Paws has closed up shop at 5435 N. Wolcott Ave. after a year. Owners Matt and Meghan Gebhardt will retain the 4 Paws brand, according to a post on the company’s website.

Strange Pelican bought the brewery equipment and took over the lease, DNAInfo.com reports. The company had planned to build a brewery on the Near West Side and open a bar in Lakeview.

Co-owner Phil Tadros told the blog GuysDrinkingBeer.com: “We were about to break ground on our Fulton space when we magically stumbled into this amazing brewery and property that was up and running. Saving us time and money we jumped on the opportunity. I think it actually worked out for all the parties involved.”
