The Chicago Sketch Comedy Festival kicks off Thursday at Stage 773 in Lake View. If you miss it this weekend, the fun is back Jan. 16-19. If music warms your soul, try the Chicago Blues and Bluegrass Festival, happening at various venues this weekend (check out cbbfestival.com), or Jay-Z on Thursday at United Center. And don’t forget the King: Join others in celebrating Elvis on Thursday at the North Shore Center for the Performing Arts in Skokie. A hunk of burning love, indeed.

High doses become routine patient care even when they make patients so ill that they skip doses or stop taking the drugs. “There’s a gap in FDA’s authority that results in patients getting excess doses of a drug at excess costs,” says Dr. Mark Ratain, a University of Chicago oncologist.
