More star power added to Gigi Pritzker film

Johnny Depp will play the title character in the action comedy “Mortdecai” — the upcoming film co-produced by Chicagoan Gigi Pritzker.

“Parks and Recreation” star Aubrey Plaza — plus veteran actors Oliver Platt and Jeff Goldblum — have been added to the cast of “Mortdecai,” the action comedy Chicagoan Gigi Pritzker’s Oddlot Entertainment is producing with Lionsgate. The film, based on Kyril Bonfiglioli’s trilogy, stars the already-announced Johnny Depp, Ewan McGregor and Gwyneth Paltrow.

In the upcoming movie, directed by David Koepp, Depp plays Charles Mortdecai, an art dealer searching for a stolen painting — rumored to contain a secret code that would lead to a huge stash of Nazi gold.
