Lake Villa man arrested after child porn found in home

(WAUKEGAN) A north suburban man accused of having “numerous” images of child pornography at his home is behind bars on a $250,000 bond, according to authorities.

Early Friday, the Lake County Sheriff’s Cybercrimes Unit and Lake County State’s Attorney’s investigators completed a child pornography investigation by executing a search warrant in the 39200 block of North Spruce Street in Lake Villa, according to the sheriff’s office.Seized from the home were electronic devices capable of storing electronic media, and a forensic examination found “numerous images identified as child pornography,” a statement from the sheriff’s office said.

Jason C. Boettcher, 26, of the Spruce Street address, was arrested and charged with five counts of possession of child pornography, all felonies, and was ordered held on a $250,000 bond, according to the sheriff’s office. His next court appearance is April 23 in Waukegan.
