Man shot in Austin

A man was shot early Friday in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side.

The 29-year-old man suffered gunshot wounds to the buttocks and leg about 1:10 a.m. while he was standing on the corner in the 100 block North Long Avenue, said police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer.

He was taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, where he was listed in “stable” condition, Greer said.

No one is in custody as Area North detectives investigate.
