Police investigating West Lawn burglaries

Police are warning residents in the West Lawn neighborhood on the Southwest Side about several recent burglaries.

In each case, the suspect or suspects used a pry tool to enter homes and garages and take items inside, Area Central detectives said in a community alert.

The locations and dates of the burglaries include:

– the 3900 block of West 69th Place on March 4,

– the 3900 block of West 68th Place on March 8,

– the 6900 block of South Karlov Avenue on March 11,

– the 3800 block of West 68th Street on March 13,

– the 6800 block of South Karlov Avenue on Monday.

All of the burglaries happened during the daytime hours except for the March 8 burglary, which happened in the early morning, the alert said.

Residents should keep the perimeters of their properties well-lit and report suspicious activity immediately, the alert said.
