Woman charged with DUI after fatal crash in Minooka

(MINOOKA) A woman has been charged with DUI following a fatal crash Monday afternoon in southwest suburban Minooka.

A Chevrolet Camaro was westbound on Route 52 and a Chevrolet Silverado was eastbound when the vehicles crashed head-on just east of Brisbin Road at 2:51 p.m., according to Illinois State Police.

A passenger in the Silverado, a 66-year-old woman, was pronounced dead on the scene, police said. Her name had not been released as of late Tuesday morning.

Police said the drivers of both vehicles were hospitalized after the crash.

The driver of the Camaro, 56-year-old Susan A. Bedenk of Serena, Ill., was charged with DUI and additional charges are expected to be filed, police said. The crash remains under investigation.
