Police: Man walks away after crashing pickup into Huntley home

(HUNTLEY) A man walked away after crashing his pickup into a home in northwest suburban Huntley Monday night.

Adam K. Domini, 23, was driving a 1997 Dodge Ram pickup westbound in the 10100 block of Bennington Drive about 6:30 p.m., went through a stop sign and struck a 2003 Honda Civic, according to Huntley police.

The pickup veered north after that crash, striking the northeast corner of a home on Bennington and hitting a gas meter, causing a leak. It also knocked the power out in the home, a statement from police said.

Officers found the vacant truck, and saw Domini walking in the neighborhood. He suffered minor injuries but refused medical treatment, police said. The driver of the Honda was not injured, and no one in the home was hurt.

Domini, of the 9600 block of Bennington Drive in Huntley, was charged with leaving the scene of an accident, and ticketed for failure to give information after striking property, disobeying a stop sign and operating an uninsured vehicle, according to the statement.

Nicor fixed the gas leak and village inspectors checked the home, police said. The resident was displaced for the night, but no damage estimate was available Tuesday morning.
