Boy, 3, dies one day after plunging from second-story window on NW Side

A 3-year-old boy died Wednesday evening, one day after he fell from a second-story window on the Northwest Side.

Mohammed Alyamani fell from the window about 1:25 p.m. Tuesday at his home in the 3700 block of North Kostner Avenue about 1:26 p.m., according to police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

The boy was taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, where he was pronounced dead at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, the medical examiner’s office said. An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday.

Area North detectives are conducting a death investigation.
