Missing hospital vehicle found in pond after 20 years

(BARRINGTON) A public safety vehicle reported missing nearly 20 years ago didn’t get far. It was recently found in a pond on the campus of a northwest suburban hospital.

The water was being drained from a pond at Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington when the vehicle was discovered at the bottom Wednesday, according to a statement from the hospital.

The hospital vehicle, reported missing nearly 20 years ago, was found to be empty when it was pulled from the water, according to the statement. The pond is reportedly more than 12 feet deep.

The Lake County Sheriff’s office is investigating along with hospital officials.
