Teen shot on West Side

A teenage boy was shot in the leg in the North Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side.

The 16-year-old was standing on the sidewalk in the 3600 block of West 15th Street about 1:15 a.m. when he was approached by a male who pulled out a handgun and fired shots, police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer said.

The boy was shot in the leg and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he is listed in “stable” condition, Greer said.
