(MOUNT PROSPECT) Police are warning Mount Prospect residents about a recent series of home burglaries in the northwest suburb.

The robberies occurred at both single-family homes and apartments between June 7 and July 14 during day and evening hours, according to Mount Prospect police.

Some of the homes were entered through an unlocked door or window, according to police. Money and jewelry are being targeted.

Police advise residents to be extra vigilant and leave televisions or radios on while not at home.
