(LINCOLNSHIRE) A northwest suburban man donned a hood and tried to kidnap a girl outside her north suburban home Wednesday night, according to police.

Daniel W. Bockenhauer, 21, of Huntley, is charged with aggravated attempted kidnapping while hooded, and aggravated battery, both felonies, according to a statement from Lincolnshire police.

According to police, Bockenhauer grabbed a girl outside her home on Wiltshire Drive and punched her about 9:30 p.m. But the girl managed to get away and call police.

A few minutes later, officers found a man matching the girl’s description near her home.

Bockenhauer, of the 11600 block of Lori Lane in Huntley, was ordered held without bond in the Lake County Jail.
