Le Meridien to open Thursday in Oak Brook

Le Meridien Chicago – Oakbrook Center opens Thursday after a $25 million renovation.

The hotel, on the east side of Oakbrook Center, has 172 guest rooms and suites, two exclusive spa suites, a 3,000-square-foot Grand Salon Ballroom and a Spanish restaurant, El Tapeo. It is owned by Rockbridge Capital LLC and managed by Wischermann Partners Inc.

The Starwood Hotels & Resorts brand hotel replaces the Renaissance Hotel, which closed in 2011.

“I think this opening will push the other hotels that are near the mall,” Oak Brook community development director Bob Kallien told The Doings newspaper.

Other Oak Brook hotels include a Doubletree, Hyatt Lodge, Marriott and Residence Inn.
