(WOODSTOCK) A northwest suburban man is facing criminal sexual assault and theft charges.

Ericsson Julio-Gumesindo

Ericsson Julio-Gumesindo, 18, is charged with aggravated criminal sexual assault, criminal sexual assault, residential burglary and theft, according to a statement from Woodstock police.

About 4:35 a.m. Wednesday, a girl under the age of 17 was reported missing from her home in the 800 block of Washington Street, according to a statement from Woodstock police.

Police found signs of forced entry to the girl’s home, according to the statement.

While officers were investigating, Julio-Gumesindo pulled up to the home in a blue Chevrolet Cavalier with the missing girl, police said.

He was taken into custody and charged with theft because the Chevrolet had been reported stolen, police said. The next day, the charges were upgraded to include the sexual assault charges.

A McHenry County judge ordered Julio-Gumesindo held on a $500,000 bond.

Woodstock police said the investigation is ongoing.
